Treatment Approach/Philosophy: As a private clinician, I have always functioned as a “Primary Care Psychologist” in the rural settings in which I historically practiced. Now, focusing primarily on adult populations, I offer individual and couples therapy employing a variety of psychotherapy and skill building techniques. Initially trained in the 1960’s by students of Carl Rogers (Non-Directive Therapy) and B.F. Skinner (Behaviorism), I have worked to continually update my skills to include the most recent research based strategies. Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Training and Communication Skills Training for couples are approaches that are frequently now offered.
